2011 Albia Golf Club Championship The Albia Golf Club Junior Championship was held Monday, July 25 with 31 golfers competing in 7 age divisions. Cy Heffron shot 51 over nine holes to defeat Jordan Woodward by two shots in the 14-15 boys division. Tyler Piper claimed the 12-13 boys division in a crowded field of ten golfers. Tyler Maddison shot 50 for second place and Joey Sinnott shot 54 to get third place to earn his first Albia trophy. Kyle Sinnott shot 55 while Wyatt McCarty, Landon Hermsen and Matthew Starcevic all shot 56 in a very competitive grouping. Trent Garver shot 54 in nine holes to win the boys 10-11 age division by three shots over Nick Maddison. Dawson Hermsen took home the third place trophy with a 63. In the boys 8-9 group, Chase Maddison won a close competition over four holes with a 43. Cooper Hassinen shot 47, Camden O'Brien shot 52 and David Fisher had 53. The boys five and under title was claimed by Conner Fisher over four holes with a 27. Spencer Maddison had 48 and Cael Schofield had 60. In the girls divisions, five girls competed in the 12-13 age division with three girls completing four holes with 35 strokes. Niki Angran won the playoff for first place, Sydney DeBruin claimed second place and Macy Lawrence took third place. Jordan Winke shot 40 and Mariah Hamilton shot 44 to complete the grouping. Jena Lawrence's 31 over four holes took the 8-9 year old division. A total of 44 golfers played six weeks of junior league this year with two weeks being rained out again for the second year in a row.
