Albia Junior Open 2000 Junior Open Leaderboard Jenah Duea of Albia and Mike Foster of Ottumwa win titles in the first Albia Junior Open!!!!! Home Page The first annual Albia Junior Open was played at the Albia Country Club on Monday, July 10, 2000. The event was open to all area golfers with young people from eight to 17 years old participating in the tournament. In the 16-17 year-old division, Jenah Duea won the girl's title with a 45-40 total of 85, defeating Nicole Kennedy of Newton while Mike Foster of Oskaloosa won the boy's trophy with rounds of 41 and 38 for 79 with Ryan Beary of Lovilia and Bill Scieszinski of Albia firing 90 and 92 respectively. The 14-15 year old boy's division came down to the last putt for Albia's David Raduechel with an untimely three-putt costing him the title, as Jeff Giza of Osceola took the trophy with an 82 on rounds of 43 and 39. Raduechel's rounds were 44-39 for 83 with Kale Wyngarden of Ottumwa finishing third with a 90 on rounds of 48 and 42. The 12-13 year old boy's division was hotly-contested with Adam White of Ottumwa firing a pair of 42's for 84 while Nathan Smith of Agency shot 44-41 for 85. Eric Duea of Albia placed third with nines of 45-43 for an 88. Luke Goemaat of Albia won the 11 and under boy's division, shooting a nine-hole score of 48 to win by one stroke over Jordan Talsma of Colfax.
